Introducing Hope for the Needy Association (HOFNA) Cameroon

We are the next generation of peacebuilders.

At HOFNA, we believe that peace means different things to different people, depending on their reality. We work with women, girls and their communities to build their knowledge, skills and capacities around their peacebuilding priorities by addressing the structural inequalities (such as gender-based violence, patriarchy and poverty) that prevent them from taking leadership and hinder their effective participation in peace building processes.

HOFNA is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to strengthen the leadership, power, and voices of susceptible women and girls from disadvantaged communities and develop them into self-reliant and socially conscious leaders.

Our mission

HOFNA's Mission is to strengthen the Leadership, Power and Voices of susceptible women/girls, engaging them in peacebuilding and socioeconomically empowering them to be self-reliant and socially conscious leaders.

We know that we are more effective when we work together and believe in Partnerships that foster real change in the lives of women and girls.

Together, we will:

  • Collaborate to prevent all forms of gender-based violence such as child, early and forced marriage, domestic violence and abuse, and support women and girls who are – or have ever been – married.
  • Collaborate to ensure girls stay in school through scholarship provisions and provision of didactic materials, materials for extracurricular activities and needed infrastructure to support education of girls
